I have a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Longy School of Music, where I was a full-scholarship student of violist Roger Tapping, and graduated with Distinction. I earned my Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance at the Biola Conservatory of Music, in California. Whilst at Biola, I was a member of the Biola Honors String Quartet, with whom I toured to Canada, was featured at a Presidential Library’s Family Concert Series, and made it to the final rounds of the esteemed Coleman Chamber Music Competition.
Highlights of my career thus far include performing with a number of orchestras (South Dakota Symphony, Sioux City Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, Salem Symphony, Lexington Symphony), playing in pick-up orchestras with more contemporary ensembles (Mannheim Steamroller, Michael W. Smith, Bobby Vinton), and teaching. Teaching appointments have included Master Teacher at the South Dakota State University String Project (2012-2013), Adjunct Instructor/Lecturer of Strings at the University of Jamestown (2014-2015), and private studio instructor. I have completed Suzuki training for Every Child Can and Suzuki Violin Unit 1, and was just awarded a scholarship to attend Unit 2 training this summer. Summer festivals that I have attended include the Montecito Summer Music Festival, Schlern International Music Festival, Stamford International Music Festival, Texas Music Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival, and National Music Festival.
I have been married to my amazing husband, Ben, for 8 years. We have been living in Vancouver since February 2016 and are in love with this area!
